Paulo is Managing Partner of PFM Associados, a firm he founded in 2017. He began his career at Arthur Andersen in the late 1990s, with more than 20 years in the consulting area, leading practices in the Big Four and companies focused on the Middle-market. He leads business and strategy consulting, financial and tax advisory, compliance and outsourcing work for various clients, especially in the Information Technology, Startups and Scale-Ups, Energy and NaturalResources, Infrastructure, Manufacturing and Private Equity industries.

Frequently invited to speak on the business environment and the Brazilian tax system in a wide variety of opportunities, in Brazil and abroad. In recent years, conferences have been given in the USA (in more than 10 states), Canada, China, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Italy, Australia, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

He gives presentations on investments in Brazil to several foreign universities, including: Auburn University, Bay Path College, Belmont University, Baruch College, Dublin College, George Mason University, HEC Paris, Imperial College London, Ohio State University, Purdue University Rice University, Rutgers University, Texas Tech University, University of Florida, University of Stellenbosch, University of Tennessee, University of Virginia, and University of Wisconsin.

Recognized for achievements with Clients. Author of articles published in International Tax Review and Oil & Gas Tax Newsletters. In 2018, he was recognized as “Lead Consultant” in Energy and Natural Resources by Acquisition International. Over the last four years, he has led PFM to be recognized as a Recommended Firm in the World Tax surveys, promoted by the International Tax Review. Additionally, in the last three years he has been recognized by the English publication Finance Monthly as Recommended Tax Advisor/Tax Advisor of the Year (Taxation Awards). He also led PFM during the nomination for Tax Firm of the Year by the same publication/award in 2022, as well as Recommended/Rated Firm in Outsourcing (BPO), Compliance, Global Mobility and Labor Consulting by the League of Leaders.

One of the co-authors of the 5th edition of the book “Success Stories 5”, published in 2019, which aims to gather stories of executives who tell their career in the business world, with the purpose of inspiring young entrepreneurs and students.
